Best tour in negombo  - Great tour, book it !

Got picked up by boat right at our retreat and than went through the Dutch canal out to the mangroves and into the lagoon.... read more We saw heaps of wildlife, different birds and the monkeys came right into the boat for some pineapple. Our guide Ju (who surely appreciates a little extra tip) was very educated showing us so many animals and even spoke a few words german. Water and fresh fruit was provided.

After that we went to the lagoon and the national park. That was even more beautiful! We saw a monkey family and a lot more birds.
The operator was really nice, he brought us drinks and fruit. He even speaks very good German!
Best day, we had so far here in Sri Lanka!

  We went 8am to 11am, we were collected from our hotel and took a ride in a tuktuk, where we were met with our boat. We left from the Dutch... read more canal, a working route into the fishing area of the lagoon. Full of industry and boats of varying sizes and scale. But also wildlife to spot from the get go.

From there we ventured out into the main lagoon stopping at monkey island, watching the families jump on the boat for free bananas. We saw Herons, Eagles, Pelicans, Cormorants and more.

We drank coconut water, freshly cut by our incredible guide, then scooped out the flesh.

We also all got to drive the boat. A great way to spend 2.5 hours in the morning. We even saw monkeys swimming at the far end of the lagoon. Brilliant. Around £110 for the boat, 3 people, but could've been 4 for no extra cost.

  The best experience in Negombo! - We decided to take a 3-hour boat tour through the canal, harbour, lagoon, and its mangrove area. In short it was a great experience but there is so much to... read more write about it! We have seen various animals like varans, monkeys, crocodiles, bats, eagles, chameleons, snakes, a lot of exotic birds and fishes. Sarath was an incredible guide who not only tell us about nature but he also showed the day-to-day life in Negombo by stopping near the fisherman and letting us see and ask about their job. He also bought for us mangos, yogurt and water and helped with buying a sim card and delicious local lunch. We are grateful and happy about the whole adventure, for us 10 per 10!
